Engineering Apprentices Opportunity

London Sovereign are currently seeking to recruit enthusiastic individuals interested in beginning a career in automotive engineering for the Modern Apprenticeship Programme. This programme consists of a fully-funded college course where apprentices are trained in a number of aspects of automotive engineering equivalent to National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 2/3 (dependant on ability). This is underpinned by a National Certificate Qualification and complemented by practical training within our working garages. On completion of the programme, apprentices will be proficient in both the practical and theoretical aspects of maintaining Passenger Carrying Vehicles. For those who exhibit a high level of competence and dedication, there may also be the possibility of continuing to study after the initial period of three years for a Higher National Certificate (HNC) qualification or even a B Eng Degree.

Successful candidates will be able to choose from one of three disciplines: mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or body structures. The apprenticeship is studied at the College of North West London at Willesden – day release. When apprentices are not studying at college they will receive practical training in the garage and within our own engineering training school. A mentor from London United will be on hand for advice and guidance.

We are looking for individuals with grades A-C GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths, English and a Science/technology-based subject who are interested in pursuing a career within the engineering field. They must be highly motivated and have a desire to learn about and work in the bus industry.
